Testimony- Where it all started?

Shirley and Lloyd met when they where in their 20's and though they were not ready for a child because my mother had a son which is my eldest brother and my dad had no children and wasn't expecting that in his early youthful years he would become a father. Nevertheless, God was ready to to send me to earth to accomplish his purpose in me. I was born in Jamaica at a time when a famous storm Gilbert had just past in the late 80's. I wonder how my mother felt when she realized I was a girl and not a boy? I never got the chance to ask her but given the stories she shared I know she was everything but not ready for child #2.

Shortly after I was born my mom and dad broke up. According to my mother version of the story she had met someone else who end up became the father of 4 other siblings after me. She said my dad hardly visited her and she was lonely and was without money and so she felt the only option at the time was to date someone who could help her with my brother and I. Even though he was the opposite of my dad which you will get to know more about him my dad that is, further in this story. This new man however, was what you would call the "cool" type with big gold chains and a little street.

She wasn't really comfortable because of their huge age difference but she felt like she had no choice. Before you start to judge her, saying well she could at least get a job! In those days.. jobs was not easy to come by and besides my mother did not have the qualification to get certain jobs.

My dad version: My dad said he had no phone and barely could get or keep a job and so he had to always be from city to city to see how best he could make some money to take care of this new baby "me" and feed his mother and siblings back home in the country so he could not stay in one place as my mother would want him to. He said from time to time he would visit her with the little he had and one day when he went to visit her and saw this man whom he had seen frequently around her before and so he decided to finally confront her which turn into an argument and she got physical with him and ran and he never was able to see or talk with her for a long while.

What happen to this new baby that just came in the world?

Dear parents why have children just to break up?

Parents, before you make decisions based on emotions stop and think how your personal issue with each other can possible affect and shape your child/ren future.

Take the time and get to know people before you decide to have kids.

Kids are not toys nor did they asked to be here and though we are born with a purpose, we need a safe space to grow and function easier in that God given purpose.

Children need both parents to be at peace and live in unity with each other.

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."

-Psalm 127:3

Children are a gift from the LORD so be sure you are ready to receive them bearing in mind some day you will give account to the same God who gave them to you.

I am not even a mom yet and I am giving parental advise lol!
